Manned control centre

Persons entering a remotely monitored CCTV site will activate a detection device such as an infra red point to point beam or a passive infra red detector. The activation causes the relevant camera covering the area to pan, tilt and zoom in to the specific area of detection. At the same time, the CCTV control equipment transmits the camera signal to a remote manned control centre.

The operator then has full access to the system, and can control and view all of the CCTV cameras on site. Public Address loudspeakers installed can be used to give a verbal warning to trespassers that their movements are being monitored and recorded, and that images will be passed to the Police.

This type of system is popular with property owners and insurance companies, as detection of a potential intruder can take place before entry is gained, thereby minimising damage and loss.

Internet viewing
